In 2025 we did a NZ roadie with our first Summit model: the Pioneer DC.
Feedback has been so positive & encouraging
Thank you for generously sharing your thoughts - it's all valuable information and much appreciated.
We know you think that the Pioneer DC model is an awesome unit, but we also know we can change things to meet the different needs of different end-users.
We've also become aware that we need better workshop facilities.
With that in mind we've decided to spend 2026 refining our design and sorting more suitable workshop facilities.

Our Story
The concept behind Summit Campers was born out of a lack of options in New Zealand for high-spec slide-on campers to suit flat deck utes.
After three years of travelling New Zealand in our caravan we wanted a set-up that didn’t need to be towed to take for a lap around Australia.
We searched high & low for a suitable slide-on camper, but nothing met our needs — so James decided to build one himself.
In September 2024, we showcased our camper at the 4x4 Outdoor Expo in Christchurch.
The response was overwhelming!
Turns out we weren't the only ones to be searching! We realised there was a gap in the market for this kind of feature-packed design.
Roll on a year, - Summit Campers is hitting the market!
Our first model, Summit Pioneer DC (double) is complete: fully self-contained, off-grid, & adventure-ready.
Our lap of Australia will have to wait, because this is only the beginning for Summit Campers.
